Rare Lois R Posted January 22, 2018 #26 Share Posted January 22, 2018 That's something I was going to ask, but may be much different on each ship; how cool do they keep it in the eating venues and casino. I normally bring a cardigan style sweater, something lightweight with me. I don't always need it though. And you are correct, it does vary, not only ship to ship, but different cruiselines may vary too.
in2up2 Posted January 22, 2018 #27 Share Posted January 22, 2018 Do the cruise ships (I'll be a first-timer on RCI Liberty of the Seas) carry plus size in their clothing shops onboard? Some, but not much. Celebrity definitely has some items beyond t-shirts, so I would think Royal would too. NorthernLite Posted January 22, 2018 #28 Share Posted January 22, 2018 NYDJ jeans in black, pale blue not fake faded and a pair of older Chico's jeans in white. All 3 are much lighter than basic denim and I fine the dining rooms freezing. Just got off Celebrity Eclipse yesterday and always wear a Tommy Bahama half or quarter zip sweatshirt for flying down and back. Flying down I carefully roll a short or long sleeve Polo from Lands End depending on the forecast and stick it into the carry on last. Well, if we fly down the same day the ship leaves so I can change tops before dinner if bags take a while and it is a lot warmer down there. Actually if you get the NYDJ black jeans that are not 98% cotton but a mix of like 4 materials you can easily wear those with a silk blouse or sparkly top on formal nights. I cannot believe how casual cruising has gotten since we started and I had to pack casual, informal and formal clothes and jeans were not ever a part of casual then. Oh, and I also took along a linen sweater in olive green and a white T shirt for under it and never felt hot. Just try to make your tops go with 2 of 3 bottoms. We were on a 5 day followed by a 14 so yes there was more but I wore my dark blue jeans and packed the other 3 and fit in just fine even for gala chic night in Luminae the restaurant for suites.
