knbcruisers Posted January 10, 2018 #1 Share Posted January 10, 2018 Has anyone ever seen Princess shore excursions discounted once you are on the ship? We have a stop in Ocho Rios and I really don’t want to commit to anything now , especially since they must be prepaid. I was hoping there would be some better offers once we boarded, perhaps one that wasn’t selling so well? This is a March 2018 10 day partial PC transit so not so many kids and an older crowd. I was hoping for a better price on zip lining. [emoji6] I know I can book my own excursion with one of the tour providers, but that still requires a reservation and deposit. I really don’t want to commit right now. Sent from my iPad using Forums
GJCruiser Posted January 10, 2018 #2 Share Posted January 10, 2018 No. I have seen 10% discounts a few weeks before sailing. However typically the excursions cost the least right after they are opened for reserving. I find the popular ones increase in price the closer you get to sailing. easyboy Posted January 10, 2018 #3 Share Posted January 10, 2018 We have not experienced any discounted price once onboard. But we have experienced an onboard price of $10 more over online price on some like on our Baltic cruise. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
Pam in CA Posted January 10, 2018 #4 Share Posted January 10, 2018 Never seen a discounted shore excursion. I have seen tour prices go up between the time they’re available and boarding the ship. That’s not unusual and happens fairly frequently. I’ve even seen a tour price that went up three times before boarding. Supply and demand.
knbcruisers Posted January 10, 2018 Author #5 Share Posted January 10, 2018 Sigh....I guess I will have to be content to take my chances in Jamaica. The canal day excursions are more important to get booked early. Thanks for all the quick responses. Sent from my iPad using Forums
Poulsbo Cruisers Posted January 10, 2018 #6 Share Posted January 10, 2018 Have you compared the prices to a private tour company? If a private company offers the same tour for less take it. If it’s an exact match (unlikely), Princess will match it.
knbcruisers Posted January 11, 2018 Author #7 Share Posted January 11, 2018 Yes I explored some private tours but nothing jumped out at me. DH now thinks he doesn’t want to get off the ship. So my plan is to make no plans[emoji846] Sent from my iPad using Forums
