ano Posted January 12, 2018 #1 Share Posted January 12, 2018 Half this section seems to be "I'm traveling to _______ is it safe?" Instead of believing LUVCRUSIN45 for what they think, or using the stock answer "If the cruise ship travels there it MUST be safe" there is actually a resource the the US Government provides here: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/traveladvisories/traveladvisories/mexico-travel-advisory.html You need to find the Mexico "State" your port is but its rather easy to find. Then each State has a code of 2, 3, or 4. 2 is Exercise Caution 3 is Reconsider Travel 4 is Do Not Go There. It really couldn't be much easier than that. "Reconsider Travel" is a bit ambiguous, but I think you get the idea. Definitely check this out first if you didn't know about it.
riffatsea Posted January 12, 2018 #2 Share Posted January 12, 2018 These warnings have been coming and going for Mexican ports for years. While cruisers stay on their ships American and Canadian "snow birds" continue to spend time on land in those Mexican cities without problems. I wonder why that is??
