2legit410 Posted January 16, 2018 #1 Share Posted January 16, 2018 We are going on a 7 night aboard the carnival freedom in mid-May. This will be the first time we take our kids on a cruise (they will be 5 and 10). I don't snorkel, I have an irrational fear of being untethered in the great big ocean. My 5 year old won't be able to snorkel. I've been looking at the barrier reef snorkel, shark & ray, beach stop excursion. I found a company that will allow us to pay half for non-snorkelers. I am wondering if anyone has gone on this excursion or a similar one and not snorkeled. Was it still enjoyable? Would a 5 year old still be entertained during the boat ride? Any input is very much appreciated Edited to add: just realized I posted this in the Roatan forum. Annabanana1234 Posted March 16, 2018 #2 Share Posted March 16, 2018 I haven’t done this excursion in fact for Belize I choose to generally stay on ship with my kids. I’ve researched beaches in Belize and my concern with this excursion with my 4 kids was that there didn’t seem to be any shade really! Three of my kids are very fair and it wasn’t like I could say take me back to the ship we’ve had enough fun in the sun. I would recommend reviewing this port of call for this specific reason, many excursions leave at a certain time and get back at a certain time. I hope someone responds to give you more info so you can make an informed decision. Have fun!
