RJAM3 Posted December 19, 2005 #1 Share Posted December 19, 2005 Hi Tried to do a search but no luck. When we got our docs today..yipee!there was nothing about the $50 each on board credit due because of the port changes. Are we to get something ahead of the cruise or is it automatically done when you get on the ship? Any recent passangers on the Star? Thanks and happy sailing! We go on the 20th of January. CRUZIN TOM Posted December 19, 2005 #2 Share Posted December 19, 2005 When you check your onboard account your credit will show there. Maximum of $100. 00 per room. $50.00 per person. I got my Docs, already and called my TA. They called NCL. It is already listed for my onboard account.
andrea63 Posted December 19, 2005 #3 Share Posted December 19, 2005 RJAM3 - We just got off the Star today. They will put the 100.00 automatically on your onboard credit. You may use it on shore excursions, drinks, gift shop and restaurants. You may not use it to apply towards your 10.00 a day tipping, or casino. If you do not use it, you will lose it. We asked on the final sea day. We had only spent 4.95 so we had a bit of shopping to do to use it all up! Enjoy your cruise!

angelsx4 Posted December 21, 2005 #7 Share Posted December 21, 2005 We don't drink or gamble, so our acct. usually just goes to pictures or batteries I've forgotten and had to pay 4x the price for in the gift shop. So, I will have fun shopping too with mine. Freestyle is new to us, so I'm trying to convice dh it's worth while to try the specialty charge restaurants too. We have two cabins so we're getting $200. Treating the kids to some virgin daquiris or pina coladas will take up some too. I'm sure you'll have some creative ways for us to spend it. I have run out of my big bottle of perfume, so there's another option too dh suggested.
marcyjane Posted December 22, 2005 #8 Share Posted December 22, 2005 I'll be a first timer on Norwegian Star in May 2006, tell me please how do you manage to get these on board credits. I've sail with RCI & CCL but only got a on board cruise once. What's the tip or hints in getting one for a first timer on Norwegian. Thanks, Marcy:)
WaldosPepper Posted December 22, 2005 #9 Share Posted December 22, 2005 These folks are receiving an OBC because their itinerary changed as a result of azipod problems causing reduced speed, and they were already booked. Anyone who booked after the announcement of itinerary change (and received a discounted price, no doubt) will not receive the OBC for their sailings. By the time you sail, the ship will have been repaired in Drydock, the speed will be restored, and the ports will be the original itinerary. Sorry. :o
electricron Posted December 22, 2005 #10 Share Posted December 22, 2005 Besides, the Star will start a new itinerary on May 4, a 3 day cruise to Vancouver, and on May 7 start 7 day cruises to Alaska.
