lukiecat Posted January 21, 2018 #1 Share Posted January 21, 2018 I'm familiar with all the great catamaran reviews and know about the deal that Pirate's Cove offers for the snorkeling trip, but which is the best way to see/swim with the turtles? Snorkel from a catamaran or do the excursion at Pirate's Cove?
JohninDC Posted January 22, 2018 #2 Share Posted January 22, 2018 Either - both will take you to the same spot where the turtles congregate (because the crews feed them). It depends upon your preferences (boat or beach? ) and budget - although if you purchased drinks, etc. at Pirate's Cove similar to what's included on the catamaran tour I suspect the price difference will be minimal. lukiecat Posted January 22, 2018 Author #3 Share Posted January 22, 2018 Thanks! So the Calabraza, Silvermoon, etc and the Pirate's Cove boat all go to the same turtle spot? Good to know!
JohninDC Posted January 22, 2018 #4 Share Posted January 22, 2018 We saw several of the catamaran tour boats pull into a spot just off of Carlisle Bay beach - same spot the local boat took us to swim with the turtles after snorkeling over a ship that was scuttled by the French during WWI. There may be other spots for swimming with the turtles
