Daily Rental in Port Canaveral

We will traveling with an itinerary stop in Port Canaveral. Has anyone ever rented a car for the day at the port? Is it easy to get back and forth? Shuttles or physical locations neat the ship?

 

Any help would be welcome.

Very easy! All major companies are within 4 miles. Budget does not allow after hours returns.

We've picked up at MCO and dropped to a location near the pier, but never picked up and dropped there.

We've done daily rentals and one way rentals from PC - we usually choose Avis for a corporate rate I get. All of them offer shuttles/to/from the port but most do not stay open late - after hours you'll need a taxi or Uber to get back to the ship.

Just watch the closing time of the local offices. If they close at 6pm, that means no shuttles after that time either.
