Just back from the Dream

Thank you for the review, we leave in 6 days! I wanted to know how many and which nights are the formal nights?

 

On our itinerary "Cozumel Extended" our formal nights were the first sea day and our stop in Belize, which was the second of three ports. I was a little surprised that they did the second formal night so early in the week (we had Cozumel and a sea day still to come) but after seeing how many people partied so hard in Cozumel, it made sense that they didn't do the second formal night that day.

Also, we did the Steakhouse on the Roatan port day, which was the 4th dinner of the week. That night, the MDR menu was by far the least appealing (at least to us) of the whole week, so it worked out well.

We'll be on the Dream Feb 11th. Thanks for your review. Haven't been on the Dream since the upgrade, and from looking at the deck plan, I don't see a sports bar at all. We're big fans of our NCAA basketball team and were hoping to catch a couple of games. No sports bar on the Dream???

I don't recall a sports bar prior to the upgrade. I DO recall sports being shown at the bar in the casino though. So maybe use that as an option if all else fails

Hmm... I could have sworn there was a sports bar near the casino on our last Dream cruise. But we've sailed on two other different ships since then so my memory could be faulty. :p Thanks, hopefully we can catch a game at the casino bar.

No. They do have several TVs with different games on at the casino bar if you don't mind the smoke.

The port took about 15 minutes byUber to get to from our Airbnb in the French Quarter.

Great review.

I would like a little more info on the Airbnb and the area around it, please. We're sailing Dream from NOLA in November and don't have accommodations yet.

The place is listed as "Perfect Stay in the Heart of Downtown New Orleans", it's on Common St and is just 2 blocks off of Bourbon St. It's a small one bedroom but bigger than a hotel room for sure. It's in a building with a front desk staffed at all times. It was perfect for our stay and felt safe. And, best of all, it was only around $100 a night which was significantly less expensive than hotels in the area.
