Help: We will be staying in Amsterdam for 3 nights in late August before the Brilliance of the Seas Transatlantic on Sept 1, 2018. We arrive by air on the 29 and are staying at the Doubletree Central Station. Does anyone know if they have an airport shuttle to the hotel? My husband uses a folding mobility scooter which he will have with us. If there is no shuttle we would need a minivan or something similar to get to the hotel, any ideas, should we prebook a taxi and who should we use? We are interested in taking a half-day trip to Zaanse Schans Windmills, Market and Volendam, does anyone know if we could do this bus trip and take his mobility scooter, he can't walk very much and needs to the scooter to get around. How about the canal tour? Can he take the scooter on the boat or would he be able to leave it at the dock and get onto the boat? Any information about visiting Amsterdam with a mobility scooter would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for anything you might provide.

I have to disappoint you. No shuttle from the airport to the hotel. Hotel is very close to Centraal Station but takinga train might be to complicated for you.

This website give details about transportation to/from the airport to town: https://www.schiphol.nl/en/page/by-taxi-to-and-from-schiphol/

There is a shuttle going to various hotels, you might try to contact them and see if they can help you. https://www.schipholhotelshuttle.nl/

Re your plan for Zaanse Schans etc., this private driver drove many cruise passengers. I think he can help you, so contact him.

I hope you husbadn can walk some steps for boarding one of the canalboats.

I am sure they can either store the wheelchair or maybe you can take it with you. There are various companies across from Centraal Station, so walking distance from your hotel.

Rederij Kooy sails from Centraal station an also from Rokin, http://www.rederijkooij.nl/en

No need to make reservations, all of them sail many times each day.

Enjoy
