Danish viking Posted April 11, 2018 Author #76 Share Posted April 11, 2018 Since you have the Copenhagen Card you can just use the public busses as a Ho/Ho bus. But if I was you I would take the train into the central station, you find the hotel just on the back side of Tivoli. The easiest thing (besides the taxi) is to take bus 5C from the town hall square towards Herlev Hospital and get off at Nørreport. From here you can catch bus 25 directly to Oceankaj. One example is if you take bus 5C at 12:23 you will then be at Nørreport 12:28. Bus 25 then departs at 12:40 for a 12:55 arrival at the pier. This gives you it plenty of time to find the bus at Nørreport as the bus stop is located 100 meters from each other. If you look at the terminal map for Rådhuspladsen and Nørreport you can see where the bus stops. At Nørreport the 25 bus stops at the same place as the busses to Forskerparken, Holte, Ballerup etc https://dinoffentligetransport.dk/trafikinformation/trafikkort/her-holder-bussen/

WDW Princess 71 Posted April 13, 2018 #78 Share Posted April 13, 2018 Here is a very informative guide to Copenhagen including transport, food etc. Thank you Danish Viking! Very good video making me even more excited for our trip. Thank you also for the recommendations for visiting Tivoli and Nyvahn earlier this week! I think it would be fun for our roll call group to plan a dinner together in the city the night before the cruise, since almost everyone will be arriving at least 1 day ahead. Can you share recommendations for a good centrally located restaurant in the city centre? I think somewhere that takes reservations for large groups would be ideal, middle price range, and of course good food. Thank you in advance! I checked out a company that you recommended for transfers, as there are 12 of us - Copenhagen Coach . . . their quote came back to me very quickly and at a great price. I have tried to find reviews but unable to find anything. Could you please give me a little more info on them or a link to reviews. Please and THANK YOU. tweety522 Posted April 15, 2018 #87 Share Posted April 15, 2018 We are arriving in Copenhagen pre-cruise May 19th 9:30am staying et the Kong Arthur Hotel. We will have two days till boarding our ship May 21, Regal Princess. Will it be easy to take the train to this hotel or is a cab better? Hop on hop off bus?? We have never been here and I have read its a walkable city. Does anyone have recommendations for these two days? Thanks
Danish viking Posted April 15, 2018 Author #88 Share Posted April 15, 2018 The hotel is located just behind Nørreport station so you can use both the airport train and the metro. There is no difference but the metro can get really crowded in the rush hour (7 to 8 am and 3 to 5 pm) When going to the port you can just take bus 25 from Nørreport and directly to Oceankaj. The bus departs at 00, 20 and 40 past the hour, so one each 20th minute. I would say that Tivoli, Glyptoteket, the national museum and a canal tour is one of the highlights. Perhaps Rosenborg with the crown jewels is worth a c, visit and its very close to the hotel. The same is Torvehallerne food hall or the round tower. The zoo and blue planet Aquarium is also highly recommended.

Google maps says total distance to Norreport station from Hotel is 650metres - 500m along one straight road then another 100m along Norre Sogade where King Arthur is. I am excited to try the public transportation too 1. The public transportation in Copenhagen is excellent and very user-friendly. We used it exclusively to get from airport to hotel to cruise ship to airport. 2. I highly recommend the Grand Tour offered by Copenhagen Free Walking Tours. It was one of the highlights of our entire trip for our Baltic cruise. 3. I also highly recommend Rick Steves’ “Northern European Cruiseports”. The segment on Copenhagen has a ton of useful information and step-by-step info for several self-guided tours. The self-guided tour info for Rosenberg Castle was invaluable as I found the signage there sorely lacking.

FlyingFlip Posted April 16, 2018 #93 Share Posted April 16, 2018 Where have you found some good maps? I just Googled: Copenhagen city center map images Then I looked at the images until I found a couple that met my needs. I copied the images into Word documents, so I could resize them and print them out as needed. In this instance, "good" is a very subjective term. I was looking for maps that covered the areas I intended to visit, in sufficient detail, without including other areas or too many additional details. IsleyGirl Posted April 18, 2018 #100 Share Posted April 18, 2018 Here is a very informative guide to Copenhagen including transport, food etc. Thank you very much for the video! Very informative, indeed! By the way, Danish Viking, what's up with the CruiseShuttle from the port? I read from the other threads that people have used them, and were happy with the service. I tried going to their website, provided my info, was hoping to purchase tickets ahead of time, but after a couple of followups, still no reply back from them? Are they still operational? Can we really buy tickets ahead? Or just at the port? Looking forward to your insights. Thanks much.
