NoleFan2U Posted April 12, 2018 #1 Share Posted April 12, 2018 Aloha! We will be cruising Hawaii for the first time with NCL in February 2019 and would like to whale watch. Which island and tour is the favorite? Looking for less crowded, not necessarily the cheapest. I have been to Alaska multiple times and seen humpbacks up close and personal as a scuba diver but I do love marine life. Appreciate any and all input! CruiserBruce Posted April 12, 2018 #2 Share Posted April 12, 2018 A little reading around the board would find, while there can be a lot of whales around the Hawaiian Islands, the whale watching activities are focused mainly on West Maui. There are many vendors. Again, some reading would see Pacific Whale Foundation (PWF) frequently mentioned. They are great, but they use large boats. There are several small boat vendors. We like Captain Steve out of Port Mala, near Lahaina.
princeton12321 Posted April 12, 2018 #3 Share Posted April 12, 2018 Second for Capt Steve on Maui. We live there and have been in many- Capt Steve is most likely the best and a local favorite. The boats are smaller and you see a lot. He has a knack for finding whales even on slower days out there.
