johnrich Posted April 14, 2018 #1 Share Posted April 14, 2018 We will be cruise on POA from Dec 1-8. With Dec 7 being Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day, would the 8th be extremely crowded? Should we aim at going on the morning of Dec 1 before boarding the ship? Sent from my iPhone using Forums
CruiserBruce Posted April 14, 2018 #2 Share Posted April 14, 2018 Pearl Harbor is pretty busy every day, but I wouldn't expect December 8th to be any different than an average day.
Grant2000 Posted April 26, 2018 #3 Share Posted April 26, 2018 Although Pearl Harbor might be busy, there is plenty to see. You can just prioritise what you would like to see. https://oahuhawaii.ca/pearlharbor/
NYCruiser243 Posted May 7, 2018 #4 Share Posted May 7, 2018 We saw PH on a Sunday. We came off the PoA the day before and stayed on Oahu for a week. I reserved our U.S. Arizona tickets 60 days out on http://www.recreation.gov, We arrived at 7:20 AM, parked the car, checked our bags (you can not bring any bags into the visitors center with you but there is a baggage check right outside the gate. Tip: bring a larger fold up bag and put your other bags inside so you only have to pay for one.). We did get the audio tour which greatly enhanced our visit. It did get busier as the day went on. We were there in October, 2016 just before the 75th Anniversary commemorations so there was a lot of interest. The World War II Valor in the Pacific National Monument (the actual name for the entire site) has a great page on http://www.nps.gov/valr as well as a great Facebook page with lots of updates and information. There website has videos explaining the monument, the ticketing proces etc.
