First Night Teen Club?????

Hello All,

 

My wife and I are taking our two granddaughters (13 and 14) on their first cruise on Freedom 5/12. We've seen many recommendations to have the girls go to the teen club the first night, even if they are not sure they want to go.

 

How does this work? Is there a set time when they should go? We have main seating in MDR, so I would presume afterwards? should we just point them toward the entrance and say "see you in an hour?"

 

We are no strangers to cruising, but have never cruised with kids, so this is all new to us.

You need to sign them up that day, but yes, we just send ours on their way.

With our teenage daughters the same age we did the following:

check in

lunch

see cabin

muster

see you at dinner

 

If you want to hold off until after dinner I don't think that would be a big deal but with the way teens are it would be easiest for them to be there from the beginning.

What we have done with our kids is tell them to go the first night and if they do not like it they do not have to go back. They usually make so many friends the first night we do not have to worry about it again.
