The road to Hana

Anyone looking at driving the back side to Hana should reconsider. Reports are that the road will be closed for construction much of the time.

We’ve driven to Hana each of the past 3 years and then spent several nights there. The Pipiwai Trail was a must each time. The last trip we purchased the GyPSy Guide app. It works off of GPS so there’s no need for cell service or Wifi. It tells you interesting sites along the way as you are driving up to them. Really a wonderful app.

Thank you for the link, which should be read by anyone considering this drive. Especially the part that says, "this stretch of road is prohibited by all rental car agencies."
