SF Grand Princess Embarkation question

Hi,

We will be heading to Alaska on the Grand Princess out of San Francisco this month. Does anyone know what time we might be able to drop our luggage off at the dock? Hubby has a cousin in town that we would like to catch up with, since we are getting dropped off at the pier, we don't want to have to tote our luggage around with us.

Anyone have any experience dropping luggage off prior to the start of boarding? Would be ideal if we could drop it off around 10.

We have never sailed out of SF, thanks for any info!

Been a couple of years since we sailed the Grand but we were able to drop luggage off as early as 10:00AM then. Might even have been earlier but we did not arrive at pier 27 until then. Don’t forget to tip the longshoremen as they really run the place and control your luggage til it gets to the ship
