Harry and Lucille Posted May 9, 2018 #1 Share Posted May 9, 2018 Last cruise on the Grand, I scored over 5,000 points in the Casino. Only thing I got was an offer of Casino cash for new bookings only. Darn. Already had booked one of the chosen cruises. No casino cash. I play Blackjack. Only table open in the morning was a $6 minimum bet with $5 bet and a chance for a $1 side bet for pair or 20 points on the first 2 cards paying 4:1. Odds are very poor. Blackjack paid 6:5. $10 play pays $12 for a Blackjack. Odds for the Casino go up a bunch. Talk about a real gamble. Maybe I will just stick with the casinos 45 min. from the house. Usually comp room and free meals.

I was a regular Princess cruiser/gambler from 2004-2012 and deposited a good amount of money in their slot machines during that time and never received a cruise comp or other significant free play offer to make me want to sail with them again so I moved onto NCL after receiving a cabin comp from a local casino. Same level of play with NCL as with Princess and NCL comped all my cabins balcony or above as well as I received some very nice perks from the casino during my cruises. A couple of months ago out of the blue I received a post card from Princess Players Club with a balcony cabin comp offer for a number of their VIP casino cruises and chose a 10 day southern Caribbean for this coming October. I was rather shocked at getting this offer since it was 6 years since I last sailed with them. Maybe Princess is now catching up on the comps they should have offered me 6 years ago which caused me to jump to NCL. Looking forward to this cruise because I do enjoy the Princess cruise experience but it will take a great deal to lure me away from NCL who has been very good to me. Maybe you should stay away for awhile from Princess like I did and just maybe you will experience the same.
EZ1 Posted May 11, 2018 #4 Share Posted May 11, 2018 This past winter, Princess had finally advertised some very low casino prices on some of their cruises. Some $89, later $149. We took a $149 7-nite Regal in March. Was surprised - finally got a free cabin letter on the last day, for mostly any cruise within 6 mths. In the past it was only 35% off & $125 or so onboard credit.(which we didnt take advantage of). Still behind Carnival, & Royal, as they dont give free drinks in the casino.(except if its a VIP group cruise. But good shows, great food in their buffets unlike others, & huge 42"TVs in all of their cabins with netflix- like TV shows & so many very current movies to choose from-all free. (Royal charges $11.95 for their movies on TV!)
