Starlight Durban Cruising Posted May 23, 2018 #2 Share Posted May 23, 2018 Are you talking about THE beach next to a bar called "The Sand Bar". Googlemaps is not showing a beach called the SAND BAR BEACH. The closest beach coming up on Googlemaps is Medano Beach. There is plenty of info avail about Medano Beach on CC. We go to Cannery Beach (Playa Empacadora) right next to the harbor entrance. It is a secluded little beach on the left side of the boat as you come into the marina. Quiet, swimmable, snorkeling ok, but nothing in the way of services/food etc. It is about an 8 to 10 minute walk from the dock, just exit to the main street and veer left. CWcruisers Posted May 24, 2018 #3 Share Posted May 24, 2018 Medano Beach is the only swimmable beach in Cabo. That will be your best bet for swimming. To reach the Sand Bar, you can take a water taxi, a land taxi or if you want some exercise, you can walk. About a 45 minute walk from the tender pier. SadieN Posted May 24, 2018 #4 Share Posted May 24, 2018 Is it calm and swimmable? Not calm like the Caribbean where the water laps onto the beach but not surfing waves either. At times there can be an undertow. Growing up we learnt never to turn our backs on the Pacific. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
