Golden Princess minisuite E719 (or 718)

Help! We've got a courtesy hold (so only a few days to decide!) on Golden Princess minisuite E719--the first-in-a-line forward-facing balcony--but we're wondering about two things: (1) Is there a lot of wind hitting you: (2) Is the view obstructed by the nearby lifeboats? It's for a transatlantic in May 2006.

THANKS!

Try and get either E724 or 726. You'll be further back of the Lifeboats and should be able to see better.

I presume you'll be on the Transatlantic sailing 5/6/06?

If so, my family and I are in those 2 cabins the week before you:).

We'll leave it tidy for you:D...............Karen

The search as mii suggested came up with this thread.

Sounds like 718 should be avoided for sure. E719 is probably ok with regards to this problem.

Here are a few pictures of the Golden. The balconies are kind of hard to see but it looks like the view from 719 would be fine and it looks like there is a divider wall forward facing so you probably wouldn't have any more wind than any other balcony.

THANKS SO MUCH, everyone, for your gracious and helpful advice! (The only mini on E left = 719, so we don't have a choice.... From the photo of the other side, it does look as if the "hanger" for the little capsules (behind the last lifeboat) is right in front of that stateroom and under it, so I'm not sure we'd enjoy it. We had E729 on the British Isles cruise in July, and that balcony extends WAY to the back and is MARVELOUS, but it's already booked on the TA in May, darn it.)

Bless you all!

Dr Fun, I think that is just the angle of the picture. I'm 90% sure that nothing is in front of the balcony of E719. Here is a picture of the CB (sister ship) which is more straight on. You can see there that nothing is in front of the balcony. It is of the port side by the sides are usually identical.

Here is a really close picture of the port side of the Grand (another sister ship) which clearly shows the balcony of E718 which would be the same as E719. I think you would be fine if you want a covered balcony minisuite. :)
