Is this the one folks are talking about? I looked on the site that lists most of the Princess excursions.

Taku Lodge Feast & 5-Glacier Seaplane Discovery

JNU-805 | Juneau, Alaska

3.5 hours

from $315.00

You will visit:

Embark on the journey of a lifetime that combines many quintessential Alaska ingredients - glacier flightseeing, a remote log cabin, wilderness trails, wildlife and a scrumptious salmon feast.

This magnificent three-and-a–half-hour journey begins when you leave the Juneau waterfront in a nostalgic DeHavilland Otter floatplane, flying over five breathtaking glaciers towards the wilderness lodge.

Everyone has a window seat on this thrilling 40-minute narrated flight, enabling you to fully enjoy the unrestricted view of lush rainforest, waterfalls, snow-capped mountains and mighty glaciers. Soar over the deep crevasses and azure meltwater pools of the Norris, Taku, Hole-in-the-Wall, East and West Twin glaciers.

The Taku River is your "runway" as you land in front of the charming Taku Glacier Lodge, a historic landmark that was built in 1923, directly across the river from Hole-in-the-Wall Glacier. Then it's time to savor an all-you-can-eat feast of wild Alaska salmon complemented with homemade side dishes and glacier ice to cool your drinks.

Your congenial hosts will entertain you with stories of the lodge's colorful past, while you absorb the rustic charm of your surroundings, decorated with old dog sleds, hunting and trapping gear, furs and memorabilia. You will also be encouraged to keep on the lookout, as occasionally the aroma of the freshly grilled salmon attracts black bears in search of a tasty morsel. After your delicious feast, linger in the gift shop, explore the forest trails on a guided, interpretive walk or relax with a beverage beside a crackling fire in the cozy lodge. This beautiful location is scarcely touched by time, so take advantage of our child rate and treat the entire family to this unique adventure.

This excursion was chosen last season by Princess passengers for overall tour quality and outstanding customer service and awarded Shore Excursion of the Season in Juneau.

yes, but to me the food was just an add on, the flight, being across from the Taku Glacier and hiking under mossed covered trees while steping on their roots was more eventful.

Also the cost of just the floatplane was 229. if I am not mistaken for another $ 90 or so you got to take off and land twice, eat and hike...oh and see a bear, maybe....we did...

Well love the Taku Lodge excursion, have already booked again for this summer, hoping my DD,SIL and GD enjoy it as much as we do. GD is excited at the possibility of seeing the bear, she loved our pictures from our first trip.

The food was excellent, salmon was caught that morning and delicious, oh and dont forget the fresh baked cookies.
