SusieKay Posted May 29, 2018 #26 Share Posted May 29, 2018 To make it easier on yourselves at this tender time you could always forgo trying to arrange private excursions and just book a land/cruise package. We had a lovely trip a few years ago when we flew to Fairbanks, spent two nights, trained to Denali for two nights, trained to Anchorage, two more nights, then bused to Seward for a seven night cruise to Vancouver. All part of a cruise tour , including hotels, train travel and transfers. Day trips can be arranged from your hotel once you arrive. One call can book everything. math227 Posted June 5, 2018 Author #27 Share Posted June 5, 2018 So we booked Boston to Bermuda in August. Alaska in 2019! At least I have a suite this summer. Thanks everyone!
Haboob Posted June 9, 2018 #28 Share Posted June 9, 2018 I would avoid Eurodam for a 7 day "round trip" voyage from Seattle. To get to/from Seattle she needs to sprint at her rated speed (21.7kt according to the readouts in her Crows Nest), leading to much engine vibration: very bad in low, aft cabins, but noticeable even in mid-ship Neptune Suites. Worse, with no reserve in speed, fog/whatever can leave her late in Victoria. We arrived after the evening shore excursions were scheduled to depart, and they were already on a tight schedule to be back before sailing. MajMom96 Posted June 10, 2018 #29 Share Posted June 10, 2018 Just curious.... you seem to know how things were on the ship in multiple types of cabins. Did you stay in more than one cabin? A Neptune Suite and a low aft cabin? Not sure how you would know.

And just to be clear, I'm not talking about pitch, roll, or stagger (when the bow digs into a swell and the ship slows momentarily). Prop vibration. Cavitation? Unbalanced? When not firewalled, Eurodam's engines were very much smoother.
