New to RCCL ... types of offers / sales?

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I have never sailed RC ... what kinds of offers do they come out with?

For instance, right now NCL is doing $50 deposits per person, fleetwide ... does RC ever offer anything like this?

What kind of offers are worth waiting for?

thanks!

Kat

The only reduced deposit offers are if you are onboard a cruise and opt to book another cruise with a non-refundable deposit.

I cannot think of any RC promo that is worth waiting for.

I wouldn't wait for any offer. If you book now and then finds something better later on, you can always rebook and get the new and improved offer. If you read this forum, you will find that most cruise line offers aren't really all that great anyway. Nothing is for free, they will adjust the base price of the cruise, keeping the cost fairly constant.

Suppose they offer a sailing at $1000 per person. Later, if they offer OBC of $100, then sailing then becomes $1100.

Sometimes there are true price drops on cruises that aren't selling well. You can always call the cruise line or your TA and get the new price (up until final payment). More commonly, the prices will gradually go up as sailing approaches. If you book now, you will protect yourself from these increases.

Just remember, cruise lines seldom offer 'free stuff'. It maybe 'included' but your still paying for it.

One other thing. RCI isn't alone in offering sales that aren't really sales. Almost every cruise line (including NCL) does it as well.
