ymann Posted January 6, 2006 #1 Share Posted January 6, 2006 I am going on the enchantment of the seas with my 1 year old daughter. Does anyone know about the cribs on board. What kind of condition are they in? Or should I just bring my pack and play? thanks Also I know she is too young for the kid clubs. What is there for her to do on this ship? springtxbill Posted January 6, 2006 #2 Share Posted January 6, 2006 They have their own pack and Plays that are in very good shape. No need to bring your own.
Krazy Kruizers Posted January 7, 2006 #3 Share Posted January 7, 2006 You might want to have your TA call ship services and arrange for the crib to be in your cabin when you get on the ship.
Nliedel Posted January 7, 2006 #4 Share Posted January 7, 2006 I agree with the above poster, make sure there is one arranged for you ahead of time.
flamomo Posted January 7, 2006 #5 Share Posted January 7, 2006 Whatever there is for her to do will be up to you to provide. Please be aware that on some ships, pools are off limits to children who are still in diapers, including "swim diapers". And on some, there are pools where children are not permitted at all. Just an FYI
CruisinFinsUp Posted January 7, 2006 #6 Share Posted January 7, 2006 My advice would be to take your own pack & play. You know how clean it is, its familiar to your child, and you can use it in hotels pre and post cruise if you are staying anywhere. What if the reservation gets mixed up and they run out of them? They generally fold up pretty small, and for a one year old all you need is the playpen part so its not so heavy either. We sailed with our dd at 21 months and took our own pack & play and it was ok. Re what to do on board: We were on Grand Princess - we would accompany her to the playcentre - they let her stay as long as one of us stayed right beside her the whole time - which was great. She could play or watch a video or whatever. She splashed in the fountain end of the pool, but that was before the new rules / law that swim diapers are NOT allowed in the pools. (we waited for our son to be 3 and are madly training him now before our next cruise!!). We spent a lot of time roaming the ship, taking turns caring for her, and "playing" in the elevator lobbies as she loved the flashing lights !!! We took sightseeing tours only on shore excursions and the driver stowed our fold up stroller for us, she sat on our laps or between us otherwise depending on the vehicle and driving conditions, but it was fine. Otherwise we pushed her in stroller and wandered the shops (bit hard as they are not "wheelchair" friendly, but with two of us we could lift her as needed). We always ate at the Princess buffet so as to not disturb other diners - the food was great and 80% was off the dinner menu anyways. We ordered room service on lobster nite!! Milk was always available or we asked for some, and we stored extra in our in room fridge for snacks. Its hard, and you have to take toys along, and diapers, etc etc, and it really is all about the child, but it was a nice week to spend as family because hubby works a lot, the weather was great and we all had fun. Enjoy!!!!
