2 Staterooms ~ kids in one & adults in other

Question:

 

We are boarding this Sunday on Symphony. My boyfriend and his 2 kids (16 and 18) have never cruised ( I am Diamond) He booked us 2 staterooms, one with he and his son and one with me and the 18 year old daughter. The rooms are not adjoining, but are on same deck. He and I would like to be together in one room and kids in another. What is the best way to accomplish this?

Leave everything like it is, sleep where you like but go to guest services on board the ship to get 2 extra room keys one for each room...
