We have some mosquitoes but you will not need to take precautions against malaria.

 

Insect repellant is enough.

In 2016 we found lots of mosquitoes at Weltenburg Abbey near Kelheim. We hadn't noticed them anywhere else son the cruise so didn't' think to bring our repellent long on the excursion. Big mistake.

In 2016 we found lots of mosquitoes at Weltenburg Abbey near Kelheim.

Interesting, we had none at Weltenburg Abbey in Sept. 2015. Then again, that was another very dry year; we had to do a ship swap between Nuremberg and Passau.
