Carnival Check-in at MIA?

I read somewhere that you can check in for your cruise right in the airport rather than the terminal. Is this accurate? Can you then walk right on board at POM?

Where do you go at the airport?

Anyone who has checked in this way, if you can share your experience I would appreciate it.

There are two Carnival check in kiosks at MIA: one near the American Airlines domestic baggage claim (ground floor) and another that is well hidden under a bank of escalators on the ground floor among the bag claims of Concourse G and H (near Delta airlines I believe). You can check in for Carnival cruises from both Miami and Port Everglades. My understanding is that checking in there renders any assigned check in time at the port moot and you can join the boarding line as soon as you arrive; if you want a firmer answer from an experienced recent Carnival cruiser I would ask on their board.

And no, there is no airport check in at Ft Lauderdale airport.
