brendaisbored Posted January 9, 2006 #1 Share Posted January 9, 2006 This is probably going to sound weird...but I'm going on a cruise next week and on the ship there will be a door decorating contest. A group of us are working on our "project" but have no idea how big the cabin door is. Does anyone know exactly? Or heck...even a good guess? :) Any info would be greatly appreciated. If it matters, we'll be on the Elation in cabin M76
KIMBER22 Posted January 10, 2006 #2 Share Posted January 10, 2006 Is the cabin door decorating for your group or is it for the entire ship and if so how did you know that they would be doing this?
serene56 Posted January 10, 2006 #3 Share Posted January 10, 2006 door decorating is for groups only--the ship does not do it. You can do it on your own too. It helps to find your cabin whenyou are going down the long corriders.
brendaisbored Posted January 10, 2006 Author #4 Share Posted January 10, 2006 Well, it's actually for the whole ship...but I think this is a bit of an exception. I'm going on The Rock Boat and it's an official contest, so the whole boat will be doing it. However, we're really not a group in that we've take over the entire ship. :D

Luanne21 Posted January 11, 2006 #7 Share Posted January 11, 2006 To answer your question. The door is a normal size door, as far as I remember. It is also metal. I do not remember it being larger or smaller than a normal door. Luanne
NeptunesGoddess Posted January 11, 2006 #8 Share Posted January 11, 2006 Yep, they're metal and magnets work great! A dry erase board that is magnetized can be a great centerpeice. I also hot glued all sorts of things around the dry erase board that had to do with the cruise. We got a nice response from it. I wasn't with a group, we just did it for fun. We got some great comments on the board from strangers who passed by. It was one of the funnest tips and actually it came in useful too. We communicated with our room steward via the board, but he also had fun with it and left messages that were teasing us about having to dress up for formal night and stuff. It was a great ice breaker.
