broadwaybaby123 Posted September 3, 2018 #26 Share Posted September 3, 2018 I turn mine off as soon as we set sail and won't turn it on again until disembarkation. Vacation time is family time.
mjkacmom Posted September 3, 2018 #27 Share Posted September 3, 2018 I’d never put it in the safe, and I never purchase internet. It’s my camera, my alarm, white noise machine, a way to keep in touch with my 5 kids onboard, and security in case of an emergency in port. pseudoware Posted September 3, 2018 #28 Share Posted September 3, 2018 Unplugging and locking the phone away are not the same thing. Too many people use their phones as cameras. So unplugging is good, but locking up the phone is not necessary to unplugging.Agree. Connecting w/family and having your phone on you are not necessarily mutually exclusive if you understand time/place and exercise some self-discipline. It's nice to have your phone handy to snap pics, message someone, etc., but while at a meal or enjoying a show, it stays in my pocket. Our family has always enforced a "no personal electronics" rule during meals (any meal, not just vacation), so we all pretty much "get it."
