Edinburgh Military Tattoo - Princess only

I have been looking at excursions for the Military Tattoo on my British Isles trip for next August. Princess is currently offering seating in Premium and Front Corner.

Do they ever offer seats in the sides? I know the end is supposed to be the better place to sit but I like the idea of the sides better.

Actually, all the seats offer good views.  The bands/acts march in from the open end (facing the castle) and come all the way down to the closed end.  We sat in the Royal Gallery which was great (covered and has comfy individual seats), but all the other seats had decent views.  Friends who sat in many parts of the venue all said they were happy with their seats. 

 

Personally, I'd recommend buying your tickets directly from the Tattoo website.  www.edintattoo.co.uk.  The cruiseline tickets are horribly expensive and you get the same ticket as you would if you buy online directly from the Tattoo website.  If you want to buy them sooner than the general public can, you can join the Friends of the Tattoo (costs £25).....we did that, but we wanted seats with limited availability.  General ticket sales open on Dec. 3, 2018....Friends of the Tattoo can purchase tickets starting on Nov. 19, 2018.
