How to edit a post

I have tried unsuccessfully to edit a post where I pasted something I copied like a screen shot.  No matter how many times I try to delete I can not delete what are now numerous copies of screen shot.  I am frustrated!  I do not want this showing up here forever.  I am about to run out of edit time most likely. UGH!!!!

I guess what I am asking is how do you delete an image.  I click delete, the screen is white I click save and they all return as they were.  It is probably too late for the posy I am having a problem with, but I need to know for the future
