Mississippi River cruises

What options do folks recommend to cruise this fabulous river?

One of the nicest ships currently sailing the Mississippi is the American Cruise Lines America which was built in 2016.  It has historic decor but is a modern ship underneath.  The cabins are said to be excellent with larger bathrooms than on most cruise ships.

We have taken three cruises with American Queen Steamboat Co. and have been very pleased with the accommodations, food, service and entertainment. They offer hop-on, hop-off bus tours at each stop as well as some reasonably-priced excursions. Our favorite trip was the upper Mississippi from St. Paul to St. Louis. Very scenic with interesting ports. I've written reviews on Cruise Critic.
