Thanks Its for the penthouse suites as well-might be the best suite perk!
bonvoyagie Posted November 30, 2018 #27 Share Posted November 30, 2018 The fore and aft penthouses have the same perks as any other suite - butler, concierge priority everything the whole VIP treatment. The only thing you won't have is access to the Haven area. Mini Suites are nothing but a slightly larger balcony room.
MsMaybelline Posted December 1, 2018 #28 Share Posted December 1, 2018 Thanks for all the advice. We moved to a forward Penthouse and are very happy about our decision. That left a Haven Courtyard open if anyone is interested. We loved The Haven on The Breakaway but felt it wouldn't be worth it on The Gem and wanted this fwd. large balcony for the Panama trip! We won't know until we go! We are already getting ready. Many ports to research. Time will fly. I've seen in the posts that breakfast and lunch are served in Moderno and Cagney's. We sailed in a forward-facing Penthouse on the Jewel two years ago for a full transit of the Panama Canal, our "dream cabin" for that cruise. Not that you should stay on your balcony for the entire transit (you really want to move around the whole ship, and see the Canal from every perspective), but it was great for the first locks when everyone was crammed into the bow, as well as during the very hot crossing of Gatun Lake. Terrific to be able to pop back into the a/c of your cabin for a little bit! My full review thread with photos is here, in case it's of help to you: BTW, we've never used the area in the theatre reserved for suite guests. Much better seating elsewhere, imho.
