Anthem of the Seas - pier upgrades

I am the Anthem in a balcony cabin with my wife and 2 kids for a holiday cruise this Dec. Thought this cruise would be sold out by now. 

 

If was booking for the 1st time today, RCLs website won't allow me to book 4 people in one room due to the cabin /lifeboat ratio, regardless of cabin class.  Potentially, there are larger cabins (i.e. Jr Suite, Grand Suite etc) that unless a party of 2 books, will go unused (I would think).

 

Has anybody seen RCL offer deeply discounted upgrades at the pier on the day of sailing?  I would think if you are already accounted for, movement to another cabin that goes empty wouldn't be an issue.

 

Any feedback would be appreciated.

Not any more.  They take care of filling cabins before the cruise.  They offer upsells and move people up.  They don't leave things until the day of sailing.
