Need guidance for Fter excursion

We will be docking in Cozumel on December 27th from Carnival Horizon. We have an Excursion booked through the ship, at Chankanab. The end time is listed as 2 p.m., but this ship should be leaving port at 6.

 

I understand that we can stay at Chank past the to departure, but we would need to arrange our own transportation. What is the best way to do this? There will be 5 of us. We are also interested in picking up Mexican vanilla and stopping at a local pharmacy before returning to the ship. This is our first cruise that includes excursions, and our first time to Cozumel. We are very much newbies and appreciate any guidance. Thank you!

Easy enough to grab a taxi from Chank back to the ship.  Fare for a van/SUV cab for 5 from Chank back to your ship should be about $18 - if you can check the current fares posted on a board near the cab line for your pier.  Ride will take 10 min or less.
