Rare boblerm Posted February 23, 2019 #1 Share Posted February 23, 2019 Thanks to the good advice of Reedprincess, we went last week with our grown children and 2 year old grandchild to Viggie Beach, and had a wonderful time! It was about a 5 minute taxi ride to the beach. The beach itself is lovely, nice sand, nice scenery, beautiful water. There are plenty of food options. Restrooms cost $1 to use, but it is only a few steps to the airport building where a clean restroom can be used for free. It was not at all crowded the day that we were there, in fact we pretty much had to beach to ourselves. The cab ride was $5 per person each way. The cost for us to get 5 chairs and 2 umbrellas was (if memory serves, it was last week after all🙄) was $55. Non aggressive vendors. I have traveled much further afield in St Lucia for beaches that were not nearly as nice. Thank you, Reedprincess! Bob

Rare boblerm Posted April 13, 2019 Author #3 Share Posted April 13, 2019 Hi Westbank, sorry , I cannot give you the name of a specific restaurant, there are several food stands right there, in this picture they are on the top left. We did not eat there, so I can't give you any feedback, but I think it is safe to say that if you are looking for gourmet fare, you will need to look elsewhere.😏. I don't know that there are any such establishments nearby. BTW, in this photo, the building right behind the foodstands, just across the street is the airport building that has free clean restrooms. Bob Thank you so much. I'm not really looking for a gourmet meal just clean food. The last time I was in St Lucia I asked the cab driver to take us to a public beach that offered food and restrooms. He took us to beach right next to Sandals Grande. The only food we had to eat came from a man barbecuing chicken 1 foot from the ground using a sort of camp fire, lol. Needless to say we didn't get to eat that day. Edited April 15, 2019 by Westbank is bestbank
Ontario Cruiser Posted April 15, 2019 #5 Share Posted April 15, 2019 We were there on th Silhoutte two weeks ago. It was by far the best beach we have ever been on. Sat under the almond tree. Third time there and every year it gets better. Always raking and keeping it clean Ontario Cruiser
Rare boblerm Posted April 15, 2019 Author #6 Share Posted April 15, 2019 I agree with Ontario Cruiser about the quality of this beach, I was actually quite surprised that there wasn't more people there. I have been to other beaches in St Lucia that were much further from the port, much more crowded, and not nearly as nice. Hey, come to think of it, maybe we should keep it a secret, by spreading the word, it may become more crowded!😮😀

We practically had the beach to ourselves. No one at all sat near us the whole day. Next best thing......not over run by vendors. Maybe we should keep it a secret.
