oufpat Posted March 2, 2019 #1 Share Posted March 2, 2019 Does anyone have any experience using this free bus in Key West? Wondering how far the bus stop is from the cruise port and how reliable it is.
peter_krynicki Posted March 4, 2019 #2 Share Posted March 4, 2019 This map gives you the loop ---> https://www.carfreekeywest.com/duval-loop-bus The orange-y square over on the left gives you an idea of where the docks are and just to the right of that is stop #4, Green & Whitehead, very close by. Notice that the Duval Loop doesn't actually go up or down Duval Street! And as far as people have been reporting, it has been very dependable. And kind of related, there's the pedestrian mall... "DUVAL STREET PILOT PROGRAM – PEDESTRIAN MALL On Tuesday, February 5th, the City of Key West approved the pilot program which transforms the 500, 600 and 700 blocks of Duval Street into a Pedestrian-only mall beginning this holiday weekend (President’s Day), Friday, Saturday and Sunday February 15, 16 & 17 from 5pm to 12am each night. That’s Fleming Street all the way to Petronia Street. The pilot program continues each weekend thereafter, every Friday and Saturday night from 5pm to 12am through April 26 & 27. That’s 23 nights, 11 weekends – the rest of February and all of March and April." Pjk
Emmabelle Posted March 7, 2019 #3 Share Posted March 7, 2019 we used it last May to get from the Southern Most point back to Duval St area and it worked well. It was hot and we really didn't want to walk back to Mallory Sq. We had a harder time figuring out which tram to take back to the military dock. haha . Docking in Mallory Sq is so much better.
