I'm not too sure that even in the US they could get away with an entire 3 1/2 month itinerary change. But one thing that does surprise me is how they can simply cancel folks' bookings because they get a better later offer for a corporate hiring of the whole ship. Makes a nonsense of commitment. Yes, there are better protections when booking in Europe (or Aus), but there's a massive imbalance in the pros & cons compared to booking in North America - witness the number of Europeans booking via US agents and the efforts of cruiselines to thwart those bookings.
