Scheduled Check in Times?

This may be one here, but I can't find it.  We got an email that stated a scheduled time to check in at the Port for our cruise on March 16th out of Fort Lauderdale.

How strict are they with these check-in times?  It seems like I have seen comments that people go over to Port Everglades and check in and just sit down to wait.

Any recent experience with this?  Thanks!

This email is now fairly common with HAL sailings, but not really enforced. Barring unforeseen circumstances, HAL typically begins boarding around 11:30am.

Depending on your boarding assignment category, you'll be onboard soon thereafter. We like to arrive at the cruise terminal around 10:30am, and are usually in the first boarding group (after priority boarding). We're usually onboard by noon.
