Need serious advice about dinner times

This thread prompted me to call in about the dining times. We requested early seating, but did not specify a time, so we were put down for 5:45. I reqested 6:15 and they noted that. Hopefully, we will get it.

 

I noticed some were unable to have their time changed. I am curious, did the Maitre D' just say no? If so, when did that happen?

 

I was hoping that if I was near the front of the line for changes, I could probably have a change made. Surely some people also switch out of early seating in favor of late.

 

What are the odds that if you don't get the time you like, you can't change it to your preferred time (provided you follow all the rules)?
