Princess Kids Club?

Wondering about Princess kids club. The Lodge is 8-12 and Treehouse is 13+.

Our son will be just a couple of months shy of 13 on our cruise so we are concerned that 8 yr olds may be a little young and he will likely have more in common with the teens.  I wish they had (say) a 12-14 or something similar as some other lines do.  I know the teens don't have to sign out, which is a concern; but curious about the experiences others have had.

Thanks!

FWIW they are pretty strict about not moving a child from one age group to another regardless of how close they are to their birthday.
