The Carnival capers are a paper the ship puts out every day....an edible caper is a pickled little flower bud from some kind of Mediterrean plant but I am not sure what type exactly. They are used as a garnish or condiment. Capers seem to be an acquired taste and a love 'em or hate'em kind of food.

I know what the edible capers are.....just was wondering about the cruise capers! Should have clarified myself.

No...not clarified as in butter.
