TheBlondeBlonde Posted October 19, 2019 #1 Share Posted October 19, 2019 I know this is a bit shallow but I have sourced a few interesting items from the often impromptu shopping opportunities on board and wondered if any were evident? I appreciate the shops are there but they mostly have a standard stock I expect.
Glenndale Posted October 19, 2019 #2 Share Posted October 19, 2019 Sorry to disappoint, but just the standard cruise ship range. Handbags, jewellery, watches, limited clothing range, Mova globes, perfumes and after shaves.
TheBlondeBlonde Posted October 19, 2019 Author #3 Share Posted October 19, 2019 Thanks for that, goof to know:) I was hoping to see some items that may have been sourced on port stops.

There was a lot of Russian merchandise for sale on last month's Baltic cruise along with someone from the UK importer who gave lectures on Faberge etc. Stock such as art quality matryoshka dolls was on board when we departed Dover and new stock, mainly souvenir quality stuff plus tourist tat, was loaded in St Petersburg for sale on the way home. That was probably exceptional because of a link up with the theme of the cruise, but it shows that the shop can on occasions reflect the itinerary. IbizaLover Posted October 20, 2019 #5 Share Posted October 20, 2019 I have to admit that I did avail myself of a couple of bits of the Russian souvenir stuff, but I’m not really tempted by most of the offerings on board ships. This could be because I hate shopping at the best of times.
TheBlondeBlonde Posted October 20, 2019 Author #6 Share Posted October 20, 2019 Thank you for the replies.😀 Make the most of trips out by the look of it. Certainly more judicious about what I buy these days but love buying gifts for people they may not see at home.
cinnamon Posted October 21, 2019 #7 Share Posted October 21, 2019 When we left Norway they had a sale of standard Norwegian souvenirs but the prices were even higher than in Norway. Something like £15.00 for a tea towel although I can’t remember the exact price.

I don't bring any home when we travel as most of it is made in China anyway.
TheBlondeBlonde Posted October 21, 2019 Author #9 Share Posted October 21, 2019 Ah yes I see about made in China. It is difficult to find unique, independent gifts! Good to know what has been available and no I would not pay £15 for a tea towel either........
