OnTheJourney Posted October 21, 2019 #1 Share Posted October 21, 2019 Just wanted to mention that on the recent Celebrity Summit New England / Canada cruise that just concluded today, our captain added a day at Saguenay due having lost Bar Harbor (and Charlottetown) because of storm conditions. Always wanted to get to Saguenay and must say that it was truly fantastic. With the fall foliage, what beautiful sailing in the fjord. I think this port should be added to more itineraries. I am trying to choose between two Princess cruises and one goes to Saguenay and the other goes to Saint John, New Brunswick. Have you been to both places and if so, which did you like best? It sounds like Saguenay is very nice, scenery-wise. Thanks, JuneauGal
OnTheJourney Posted January 11, 2020 Author #4 Share Posted January 11, 2020 Apples and oranges....quite different places. I've been to St. John as well as through much of New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and PEI - not all by cruise but some by road trip. The Bay of Fundy is, of course, unique for the exceptionally high tides, and so, the Reversing Falls is well worth the time, as is Hopewell Rocks (about 2 hours away or so - I'm sure the cruise line probably runs excursions there). Saguenay has the scenic fjord and National Park area - truly beautiful. Can't go wrong with either place!
