elaine5 Posted December 7, 2019 #1 Share Posted December 7, 2019 (edited) Can we just walk out from port and get on a safari bus to Magens Bay in the AM if we don't want to shop sightsee, etc.? Do any of the Safari buses stop at any lookouts for photos or just a straight drive? aRE they still $8PP? Ms411 Posted December 8, 2019 #2 Share Posted December 8, 2019 Yes, but the safari isn't a bus - it's just a safari. Or taxi. The taxi fares are set by the VI government and have not changed in over 10 years. The $8 per person rate is the rate from the Havensight dock. Not sure about rate from elsewhere but a quick Google search for taxi rates in the VI should give you the rate from other starting points. Most drivers do stop at lookouts but there's no guarantee. You. Might want to ask the driver to stop before you choose that driver.
Sheffie Posted January 23, 2020 #3 Share Posted January 23, 2020 Yes, you can. The busses are $2 pp to Redhook. You have to exit the port and go down across from Wendy’s to catch the bus. I’m not sure where the stop is. I just know a that when you come back from Redhook, it is across from Wendy’s.
Ms411 Posted January 23, 2020 #4 Share Posted January 23, 2020 Magens Bay is not in or near Red Hook.
O2B@Cagain Posted January 24, 2020 #5 Share Posted January 24, 2020 The safaris that run the $1/2 route do not go to Magens. One problems is that it is impossible to tell if a safari vehicle is $1 ride or regulated taxi from its markings.
