San diego luggage storage

Hi

 

We are getting off a cruise in San Diego in May, we have a flight back home the same day at 7pm.  Looking for ideas on where to store our bags for the day so we can do the hop on hop off bus and see something of the city.   Have read that some hotels will allow us to store for a nice tip.  Only other option is the cruiseline tour which drops us off at the airport.   all advice gratefully received.

Call the Wyndam hotel (directly across the street) and ask them if you can do this.  If not, try the Springhill and Residence Inn (one property) Bayfront - they are right next door basically.

I would do the hotel check option noted above, unless you plan to rent a car to get around in San Diego, then just put your luggage in the trunk.

A fairly new option offered by some of the cruise lines is Luggage Valet. Celebrity offers this at several ports, and essentially you pay to have your luggage picked up from your cabin on the last evening and they send it directly to your destination airport. In our case last month, it was $25 per person plus bag fees (if applicable), Celebrity picked up our bags the night before, and they were on the luggage carousel when we returned home that evening.
