Alaska last week August opinions? Cabin 6560, how obstructed is it?

We are thinking of using our FCC to book Alaska 1 week from Seattle either 27th  or 30th August 2021 on either Quantum or Ovation is this too late in the season too enjoy Alaska?

I looked at the deck plans and on Ovation deck 6 is right above the lifeboats. So you can't look straight down from your balcony to the water. You can look out to the sea and the horizon, just not straight down alongside the ship.

 

We cruised Alaska last year on Radiance 8-30-19 and the whales were gone already. Weather was nice and trees were just starting to turn color in spots.

It's 100% obstructed looking back towards the aft of the ship, so not horrible when looking straight out or forward. That davit will be right there in the site lines however.
