They are giving two doses in the trials, but many of the doses are not real doses but just placebo. So, basically, some people get 2 real doses, some 1 and some none. But that does not necessarily mean that the final vaccine would require two doses. Even one dose would likely provide some immunity. I have heard of only one trial that is a single dose (recent J&J announcement). Those that are doing two doses are giving two doses to all people who are getting a real dose.
