Rare pierces Posted January 4, 2021 #1 Share Posted January 4, 2021 Pictures taken between Monday, January 4 and Sunday, January 10. Rules: See above That's it. This isn't a contest. All photos taken this week are welcome (not just cruising). Prizes will not be awarded. Discovering the joy of photography is the prize. The idea is to get folks out using their cameras for more than vacations and toddler birthdays. Post one. Post many. Up to you. Have fun with your camera and share your fun with others! Rare Oviedo32765 Posted January 9, 2021 #3 Share Posted January 9, 2021 Christmas 2020 has offically come to an end in our household. The tree is down but before the decorations were packed away, one last hurrah!
Rare pierces Posted January 9, 2021 Author #4 Share Posted January 9, 2021 Last week the family rallied and found a puppy for Savannah. It turned tragic when it was found to have Parvo and had to be put down after a single day. We were heartbroken. This week gave us hope that this year will not completely suck when a phone call to a shelter led to a run to the High Desert and the adoption of Lila. She is a Chihuahua-Dachshund mix, has shots and has a wonderful personality. With all that is going on with remote school and stay-at-home orders that seem endless, having Lila to care for will bring nothing but good into the mix. Even the trials and tribulations of potty-training and helping the little beast identify what is ok to chew on pale beside the benefit of the absolute loving devotion that is a dog’s gift to mankind. zackiedawg Posted January 12, 2021 #7 Share Posted January 12, 2021 A lovely, cool, sunny Saturday, January 9, 2021 at the wetlands: Otter on shore, startled by my approach: American wigeon, one of our wintering ducks, stretching its wings: Really close up with a double crested cormorant, who was too busy watching the waters below for a fish to care about me 10 feet away: Red-shouldered hawk circling over me: One of the most beautiful color pattern birds in the wetlands - the lovely American bittern, sitting out in the open enjoying the late afternoon sun: I know they're mostly just tan and brown, but all the shades and tones of those colors, and the intricate dark brown patterning and dotting on the back and wings, is just amazing to look at closeup: A tricolor heron flying by in the clear skies at sunset:
