Five years ago while on the 50th anniversary Princess Love Boat cruise, I located an optical shop in Hong Kong. It was either on Nathan or Mody Road. Does anyone have any information about this shop? Is it still there; how can I contact it? Thanks for any info you may have,

Can't help you with the shop but if you use google maps you can search for optical shops in Hong Kong.  Should be able to find it if it's still there.

there is an eye glass store in Kowloon that is mobbed by locals and visitors alike. It is on the 3rd or 4th floor of a warehouse a little way out of downtown just off Nathan Road. Wonderful service and fairly inexpensive.  Certainly better than the "chain" stores that you will see closer to downtown. We purchase glasses almost every trip.  I will try and find the name--Maybe it is listed in one of those books that list bargains for HK?

Hong Kong used to be inexpensive, but not anymore. With the cost of shipping be sure to compare prices. I used to always get my glasses in HK, but here is cheaper now. But you can still get the really thin lens there that are not available here because of safety regs.
