Atlantis Rio - Mixed Excursions

ZIPPER

Recommended Posts

After reading this passage from the Atlantis Rio vacation guide, I am really glad I decided to pass on this trip:

Atlantis has worked closely with Oceania to enhance and develop excursions that will be fun and exciting for our group. Many of the excursions are "exclusive" to Atlantis guests, although in some cases the tours may be mixed with guests from other cruise ships. If you are in doubt, please inquire with shore excursions before booking.

Does it concern me..no way. The city will be mad house to begin with and I could understand some of the less than popular tours filling buses at the pier with pasengers from other boats. It might be fun to have a bunch of guys on the buss bringing some life to the straights........let them see how we have fun regardless of the situation.

Me, I cant wait for this voyage and even though it is costing me major monwy, I think it will be a cruise of a life time. In particular is the chance to tandem hang glide in Rio. It is not a tour on the list, but I booked it on line and cant wait to do this activity. I saw this on the Amazxing race and it was one of the main reasons to take this cruise....and this has nothing to do with it being a gay charter.

I think this trip will be exciting, educational, more than disco parties and excess than that of the caribbean cruises.

Buenos Aires here I come! After 60 cruises I still am like a kid on Christmas eve.........ain't life grand!

Hi, Pardon the intrusion, but your Tandem Hang Glide excursion sounds great! I have gone tandem with a paraglider from Mt. Haleakala, in Hawaii, and also from Point-of-the Mountain, North Launch, in Draper ,Utah. Have also done around 26 solo flights with my single wing.

I am soo excited. I booked to go with Konrad Heilmann. If you go on his web site there is a video of what the flight is like. What makes this so fabulous is the scenery...off the mountains, over the sea and down on a beach. If nothing else excites me on this trip, this single experience will be worth the trip.

Now all Ihave to figure out is how and when to go to New Zealand to bungee jump. I swore I would never do this, but after seeing it on the Amazing race...it is now on my to do list.

Thanks for writing and telling me of your flights! Sounds wonderful.

Tom

Most of the excursions are for your specific ship. There are occasions where certain excursions just won´t fill from one ship (The America´s cup yachting excursions are the best example).

95% of the excursions will probably be Atlantis passengers only. However, there is no way for Atlantis to guarantee it. There was a time when Rich may have done that, but now days, it´s just not possible.
