Transportation FLL/MIA

Hi,

 

We will be flying into Ft. Lauderdale the night before our Navigator cruise out of Miami. Anyone know of a good car service to get from the FLL airport to our hotel in Miami? And then one that we can use at the end of the cruise from the pier to Miami airport? Or, are regular taxis clean, safe and reliable?

Regular taxis are fine. They are fare regulated so you know exactly howmuch you will pay from point to point.

We used Larry's Limo, great service, prompt and the kids were blown over by the limo! Also used it for our return trip, he was waiting when we got off the ship.

Either use a car service, or the ship transfers.

 

We used a taxi last week. It was $75 (for two people) going to the ship and $60 going back to the airport.

 

I will NEVER use a taxi again if we have to get from Fort Lauderdale to Miami. The driver on the way to the ship did 35-40 miles an hour to the ship. The speed limit is 55. I was MAD. He also took the long way to the pier. He circled the port instead of getting off at the first exit. (We have sailed out of Miami many time and know how to get to the ship). The ship was supposed to sail at 5:00. We got to the pier at 4:20. We left the airport at 3:15. (Long story)

 

On the way back we were lucky to have a good taxi driver. He got us to the airport in 25 minutes. He also got a good tip :) We were sitting at the gate for our 10:50 flight by 8:00am.

Thanks for the info - I realized after asking the question that we probably wouldn't all fit into one taxi with all our stuff anyway, so I will look into the recommended car service cos.

We are using floridalimo.com on the way down $18pp shared ride. On the way back we rented a Toyota Sienna (8 passenger) from Alamo for $70 with taxes & fees. We are 5 with lots of luggage and a late flight returning so need room to store luggage. Alamo has shuttle at port for Miami airport rental.

We used the shared ride ... nice towncar that the two of us shared with one other woman. I plan to use them this time too. I can't believe what they charge for a taxi and I have had some bad experiences with them.
